History

To address declining volunteer numbers in a disconnected sector across the Dubbo Region, an inaugural volunteer expo was held in 2024. The purpose was to increase awareness of volunteerism and connect community organisations.  The social media page and expo was funded with $25,000 of committee and event support from certified social enterprise, NFP Guide.

During consultation post expo our groups have shared they need change to happen, but are facing burnout and need someone to take a leadership role that addresses needs of Dubbo Regional community groups and volunteers.

To address this we started our Foundation. Volunteer in Dubbo Region is now managed by the Foundation.

We acknowledge and thank the founding committee (pictured here) who gave their time to attend regular meetings to plan the expo. Committee members were represented by Baptist Care Hope Street, Emmanuel Care Centre, Global Care Dubbo, Live Better Community Services, St Vinnies Dubbo, and Your Not-for-Profit Guide.
